| | | | Dear Family and friends, the following poem was mostly written around the middle of December last year. I re- member as I wrote it my thoughts went to John 11:35.
It encouraged me to realize that our Savior knew the pain of grief; he wept openly at the death of his friend Lazarus even knowing his resurrection would soon follow. Some say poor Laz should not have had to experience dying twice. I don't agree. He was destined by God to live again; he was Jesus' friend!
Besides January and March through December this year I think February (especially the 14th) will be a hard month for me, with all the Valentine's stuff and no sweetheart to buy for I may just stay inside all month. I miss my friend, but there's no doubt in my mind that my Evelyn was Jesus' friend first.
What was the name of that old Tom Hanks movie where he played the coach of a woman's baseball team?? Our favorite line from that show was: "There's no crying in baseball!" Well, there's no crying in Heaven either, but there's plenty of crying going on over here! THANK YOU for praying for me.
Now the poem:
24 Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." 25 Jesus said to her, ""I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. 26Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?""
I love you Evee! | | |
