HERE AM I, SEND ME

Isaiah 8:6         I heard God ask, "Whom shall I send?" HERE I AM, SEND ME Take my heart, Make it start, Lord; May I follow only You. Shake my soul, Lord, Forgive my selfishness; Awaken true faith in me. Break my will, Make it be still, Lord; Might I seek only You. Stake my heart, Lord, Sanctify it in Your truth; uh Here I am, send me!

SALVATION

Matthew 7:24-27

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

SALVATION

Saved from death
Saved from hell
Saved from living
for myself

Saved from religion
Saved from guilt
Saved from sinking in the
house of sand I built

Saved from lust
Saved from greed
Saved from worrying
about everything I need

Saved for love
Saved for others

Saved to pray for
my sisters and brothers

²⁶ But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not
put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house
on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds
blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

Crucified And Resurrected Our new life begins with faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sin. When we are "born again," we cross from an eternal death to an eternal life; "whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life" (John 5:24). Sin caused our condemnation and required our death; but Jesus took our sin and received sin's punishment. When we identify ourselves with Christ, we also identify with His death; "Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?" (Romans 6:3). True salvation requires that we are "baptized into Christ," which means we completely identify with His life and sacrifice on the cross. He was put to death for our sins, and has crucified the old sinful nature of all who believe; "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). The old nature has been crucified - it is dead! Granted, we often attempt to bring that comfortable old nature back to life and allow it to war with the things of the Spirit, but the old nature can no longer take control - it can no longer win! This understanding will bring a glorious victory and freedom. The life we live in this body is not our own, we have died with Christ; "The world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (Galatians 6:14). And if we have died to the world, the world cannot harm us and should not cause us to fear. But our new life is much more than the identification with His death. The purpose of being crucified with Christ is so we can also be resurrected with Him and live a resurrected life. Romans 6:4-5 "We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection." We have not been crucified so we can simply wait to be called Home and taken out of the world. The new life we have received ought to set us free - free from the pulls of this world, free from the world's definition of success and failure, free from the concern of how others evaluate our life, and free to live each day for the glory of God. Our lives should be a witness to the power of the gospel. If the gospel message resides in our heart then we have been empowered to change the way we live today! We have died to the power of sin and been made alive to the contented joy of Christ. Let's demonstrate the power of the gospel by living a life which is both crucified and resurrected. Now faith, hope, and love remain—these three things—and the greatest of these is love.

Three things will stay to guide your heart
into the joy God planned from the start;
Faith, hope and love are the pillars of life
that support every soul found in pure light.

IN THE END LOVE WILL WIN

In the end love will win,
In the end love will conquer;
In the end love will rise again
O'er sin and consequences.

In the end hope will see,

In the end hope will persevere;
In the end hope will be amazed,
O'er the splendor of God's glory.

In the end faith will stand,
In the end faith will be victorious;

In the end faith will meet her freedom,
In the open arms of God's Son Jesus.

BEWARE YOUR HEART

◄ Jeremiah 17:9 ► The heart is deceitful above all things, you cannot trust it. BeWARe your HEART Beware your heart The Truth is final Beware your heart The End is near Beware your heart The Life is fluid Take care your heart Follow faith not fear Beware your heart Heaven is waiting Beware your heart It leans towards hell Beware your heart Give it to Jesus Take care your heart Choose to be well J3FF 2014 Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary  (Public Domain)   Jeremiah 17:5-11 He who puts confidence in man, shall be like the heath in a desert, a naked tree, a sorry shrub, the product of barren ground, useless and worthless. Those who trust to their own righteousness and strength, and think they can do without Christ, make flesh their arm, and their souls cannot prosper in graces or comforts. Those who make God their Hope, shall flourish like a tree always green, whose leaf does not wither. They shall be fixed in peace and satisfaction of mind; they shall not be anxious in a year of drought. Those who make God their Hope, have enough in him to make up the want of all creature-comforts. They shall not cease from yielding fruit in holiness and good works. The heart, the conscience of man, in his corrupt and fallen state, is deceitful above all things. It calls evil good, and good evil; and cries peace to those to whom it does not belong. Herein the heart is desperately wicked; it is deadly, it is desperate. The case is bad indeed, if the conscience, which should set right the errors of other faculties, is a leader in the delusion. We cannot know our own hearts, nor what they will do in an hour of temptation. Who can understand his errors? Much less can we know the hearts of others, or depend upon them. He that believes God's testimony in this matter, and learns to watch his own heart, will find this is a correct, though a sad picture, and learns many lessons to direct his conduct. But much in our own hearts and in the hearts of others, will remain unknown. Yet whatever wickedness there is in the heart, God sees it. Men may be imposed upon, but God cannot be deceived. He that gets riches, and not by right, though he may make them his hope, never shall have joy of them. This shows what vexation it is to a worldly man at death, that he must leave his riches behind; but though the wealth will not follow to another world, guilt will, and everlasting torment. The rich man takes pains to get an estate, and sits brooding upon it, but never has any satisfaction in it; by sinful courses it comes to nothing. Let us be wise in time; what we get, let us get it honestly; and what we have, use it charitably, that we may be wise for eternity.
